I’ve just posted a personal illustration to my portfolio site, but I thought it might be nice to show some sketches and images that influenced me. I started with the idea of illustrating a Charles Trenet song, but soon decided to abandon the idea of adding text. Later I drifted from my initial idea (which is one of the fun things about personal work) and found myself more inspired by a short video clip of a Charles Trenet film (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-afpSA56FpE).. At the bottom is the final piece.
